In the renovation of the Beijing Urban Construction office building,

the original eclectic facade was replaced with a red terracotta-brick facade,

paying tribute to the old red-brick buildings of the past.

A dry-hung terracotta-brick open curtain-wall system was adopted, avoiding efflorescence from jointing mortar.

Each hand-fired terracotta brick is unique in color and texture thanks to the human touch.

Five colors are dry-hung in random alternation, conveying the genuine, weathered depth of time.

Sixty-five modular formats enable a wide variety of bonding patterns,

honoring traditional craftsmanship while embodying the spirit of the artisan.
